About Us

We are growing followers of Jesus Christ who will change their world. Young or old, beginner or seasoned, we all can share our "story" and experience in Christ with others. We want our family, friends and aquaintances to know about a Holy and Loving God who created a way, through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to rescue a lost and confused humanity from their pain and unfulfilling lives. We are getting to know God, growing in our relationship with Him, and sharing life with others. It is when we are restored to a relationship with God that we can live the fulfilled and dynamic lives that was God's initial intended plan.

Through the years, God has blessed us as many people have passed through our doors to hear God’s Word and receive ministry. God has also helped us to engage in our community through various events and outreaches so we could reach beyond our church doors and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.

In 2016, Reverend Eric Vernelson, retired and Reverend David List stepped into the role of Senior Pastor.

As we have continued to live out our faith and trust the Lord in this new season, God is leading us to make an even greater impact on our community and the lives of the people with whom we come in contact. Accepting this new mandate from God, in February of 2019, we officially changed our name to Impact Church of Wilson. Our desire is to see the lives of people transformed as they have a personal encounter with God. We invite you to join us as we walk with the Lord, grow together in our faith and make an impact on the people with whom we come in contact so that they are transformed by the love and power of Jesus.

David List was born and raised in Africa where his parents served as missionaries. He returned to the United States to attend college earning a B.A. in Pastoral Ministries from Emmanuel College, and a M.A. in Christian Doctrine and History from Regent Universary. He served here as associate pastor from 1989 to 2005. He returned as lead pastor at Impact Church since 2016. He has a genuine love for people and is committed to developing the Body of Christ locally and in other countries. His wife, Cecile, shares his heart and is our Worship Team Leader. They both love to talk about their children and growing number of grandchildren.

Carla Williams earned a B.A. in Religion & Philosophy with a minor in English from Barton College and a certificate in Children's Ministry from Rhema Bible Training Center. She has served the Body of Christ as a youth pastor, a missionary, children’s pastor and administratively. She currently is the associate pastor and children’s pastor at Impact Church, where she has ministered since 2001. Her heart is to see children and their families grow in their personal relationship with the Lord, and to have daily encounters with God that change their lives and the lives of those around them.
